LOS ANGELES - A 29-year-old man twice arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting women while impersonating a law enforcement officer was behind bars today in lieu of $1 million bail.
Pedram Mehrian was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of rape in an alleged crime last month in Rosemead, sheriff's deputies told the Los Angeles Times.
Mehrian also was arrested June 2 by Los Angeles police in a similar alleged crime in West Los Angeles that started with an Internet ad for an escort.
The alleged victim said she met with him and that he identified himself as a police detective, handcuffed her and sexually assaulted her, according to police.
Mehrian posted bail in that case and was released, facing a July 1 hearing.
Detectives are also investigating a third assault in May in West Los Angeles.
