Cameron Diaz explains A-Rod popcorn feeding

"I'm a sharer!" Diaz told David Letterman last night of the now-famous Super Bowl incident in which she was caught putting popcorn in sweetie Alex Rodriguez's mouth.

"Because as a ballplayer?he can't run the risk of injuring his hands on popcorn," Letterman joked.

"You want to know the story, Dave?" Diaz said, "You get an exclusive ... I'll tell you exactly what was happening."

She said, "We were watching the game, and I was eating, and I was getting down to, like, the last couple pieces of popcorn, and all of a sudden, I see a hand coming in. And I'm like ? anybody who knows me does not put their hand in my food, especially when it's close to my mouth. And I said, 'What are you??' And then I went, 'You know what? I love you too much, I'm going to give it to you. You deserve it.'"

The Bad Teacher actress says it was "the only piece" she fed him, and of course cameras happened to catch it. Ten minutes later, she said, "we're blowing up on our BlackBerries. We're like, 'What? What?' And we started laughing so hard, like, 'Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?'"
