Who says royals don't get their hands dirty?
Before leaving Ottawa today, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, got a little busy digging some dirt when they participated in a tree-planting ceremony at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Canada. The duchess wore a short, grey dress by Catherine Walker to the event. They made a stop there and at the Canadian War Museum before leaving for the next stop on their North American tour. The tree they helped plant is next to the one planted by the Prince and Princess of Wales in 1983.
They arrived later in Montreal where they were greeted by a small group of protesters, who included members of a separatist group opposing Canada's ties to Britain. Still, several hundred Willliam and Kate supporters outnumbered the protesters, reports the Associated Press. The crowds gathered outside Sainte-Justine University Hospital Centre where the royal couple were going to visit with cancer patients and the hospital's neo-natal care facility.
