Up in smoke? Chace Crawford's marijuana charge may disappear

Chace Crawford's pot charge will be dropped if he satisfies conditions ordered by the court.

Chace Crawford's pot charge will be dropped if he satisfies conditions ordered by the court.

Chace Crawford's marijuana arrest may go up in smoke, as if it never happened at all.

The "Gossip Girl" star, who was arrested last June after cops found him in a vehicle with an unlit joint, has agreed to a pretrial diversion program, according to TMZ.com.

Crawford, 25, ultimately won't have to face a charge of marijuana possession provided he fulfills certain requirements set by the court.

For starters, during the next 12 months, the hunky actor reportedly can't be arrested or be involved in any criminal activity.

Crawford was also ordered to perform 24 hours of community service and check in with a probation officer each month, the gossip site said.

The case will be dismissed if the Texas native meets all the conditions. The misdemeanor pot charge reportedly carried a sentence of up to six months in jail.

What would Nate Archibald say? Crawford's character on "Gossip Girl," now in its fourth season, has been known to smoke up at times. But at least he's managed not to get caught.

Jodie Foster finds being a parent incredibly rewarding and is amazed by the changes in her eldest son Charles, who is now 12.

Jodie Foster loves her changing relationship with her eldest son.

The 48-year-old actress-turned-director - who has sons Charles, 12, and Kit, nine, with an unnamed father - is delighting in seeing how much her older child is developing as he grows up and finds he inspires her more than ever.

She said: "Parenting is the most creative thing I've ever done. You are watching this thing blossom that is outside you and yet part of you in some ways.

I feel like he'll always come back to dinner with me, because I'll have been to work with interesting people.

"I'm now at this point where my elder son is 12 years old and he's taller than me and he's got a deep voice. And I have to say I am really loving living in the same house as this young man who is totally different from me. Having conversations and being really inspired by him. And then him explaining things to me that are not part of my universe."

Jodie also believes her desire to keep working will help her stay close to her sons as it will make them realise she has a sense of purpose outside of their home life.

She told Psychologies magazine: "I see that it's so important for me to have a separate creative life from him, so he doesn't feel that I just live for him. I feel like I won't lose him that way.

"I feel like he'll always come back to dinner with me, because I'll have been to work with interesting people."

'Jersey Shore' alum Angelina Pivarnick dumped by fianc over affair

David Kovacs and Angelina Pivarnick were all smiles in New York the day after their engagement.

Thomas Concordia/WireImage

David Kovacs and Angelina Pivarnick were all smiles in New York the day after their engagement.

Might Angelina Pivarnick end up a single mother?

The former "Jersey Shore" cast member, rumored to be pregnant, is no longer engaged to David Kovacs.

"I have ended things with Angelina," Kovacs told RadarOnline.com, adding that he's "going through a really rough time right now."

The romance fell apart after Kovacs discovered the 22-year-old reality star cheated on him, he claimed.

"I got a text from a firefighter who actually apologized for sleeping with Angelina," Kovacs said, "saying he just found out she was engaged."

The couple actually had a very public proposal in February. Kovacs dropped to one knee and popped the question while on the red carpet at a fashion show in Manhattan.

Photographers caught every ? allegedly staged ? moment. Pivarnick later denied it was a publicity stunt.

Kovacs, who doesn't know for sure if Pivarnick is really expecting or if he's the father of the baby, lamented the demise of their relationship.

"I truly fell in love with this girl and wanted to have a family and grow old with her," he said.

But what if Pivarnick is indeed carrying his child?

"If there's a child involved that's mine, I would of course take care of it," Kovacs told E! News. "The last thing I'd want in my life is to raise a child in a broken home,

Cellphone crackdown: Hang up and drive, cops say

In any other month, some officers might have turned a blind eye to Osvaldo DeAguiar as he chatted on his cellphone while driving his Volvo down Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks.

But DeAguiar became one of tens of thousands of drivers caught up in a distracted-driving crackdown this month by law enforcement agencies throughout the state.

To mark the state's first Distracted Driving Awareness Month, officers followed a nearly zero-tolerance policy on those violating the law requiring the use of hands-free cell phone devices while driving, or engaging in other distractions.

The number of drivers cited still wasn't final, but at least 20,455 were ticketed statewide during the first two weeks of the campaign, with 55 percent of 280 law enforcement agencies reporting, according to the state Office of Traffic Safety. California Highway Patrol officers were issuing tickets at twice the normal rate.

"The law is the law, and you have to follow the law," DeAguiar said with resignation after he was issued a ticket by LAPD. "But I think the city needs money. That, I don't agree with."

The tickets - starting at $159, with subsequent violations costing $279 - are the price to pay for those caught with phone in hand as authorities try to prevent distracted driving accidents, which can also be

caused by eating and drinking, grooming, using a GPS or fiddling with the radio.

Drivers who use cellphones while behind the wheel are four times as likely to get into injury crashes, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. And using a cellphone, whether hands-free or not, delays a driver's reactions as much as having a blood alcohol level of .08 percent, or the legally impaired limit for driving, according to studies.

The belief that cops are heavy-handed in issuing tickets just to rake in money is a familiar one to Officers John Holliday and Ray Navarro of LAPD's Valley Traffic Division, who cited DeAguiar after spotting him with the telltale crooked elbow holding a phone up to the side of his face.

"It's a shame that it might cost that individual some money," Holliday said. "But it might save him from a traffic collision around the corner."

The arguments that the cops should be doing something more important or that they should be more lenient are familiar ones also.

But it's all about changing a dangerous behavior of people who don't correlate the use of a cellphone to be a distraction that could result in injuries or fatalities, Holliday said.

"People will say to us, `Don't you have anything better to do than writing tickets?' " Holliday said. "But they don't see the aftermath.

"I've seen fatalities where people have been on their cell, people making left-hand turns and boom, they turn in front of a car," said Holliday, who was a collision investigator. "Most of the time, they're distracted."

Navarro recalled accidents where children were run over, such as 16-year-old Conor Lynch, a Notre Dame High School athlete killed in Sherman Oaks in October.

Lynch was struck by a car as he was jogging across the street midblock during cross-country practice. The driver, 18-year-old Moran Biton, continued for several blocks before pulling over and telling police that she thought she had hit someone.

"We see the worst of the worst," Navarro said. "Everybody has to be so connected these days. What happened to just being in the car and listening to music?"

Nearly 31,000 fatal crashes were reported in the U.S. in 2009 in which more than 33,800 people died. About 16 percent of those fatalities involved a distracted driver, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The actual percentage could be even higher, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which pegs the number at 22 percent of all crashes.

"These estimates are imprecise and likely underestimate distraction's role in crashes, as many police reports don't have information on distracting events," according to the IIHS. "Police crash reports aren't a reliable way to count cellphone-related collisions because drivers often don't volunteer that they were on the phone."

Despite an estimated 60 to 70 percent compliance rate with the law, a recent national poll found that 63 percent of teens and young adults admitted using a cell phone while driving and 30 percent say they have sent text messages while driving.

"With the mobile-device use explosion, it's something that the traffic safety community has been running to catch up with," said Chris Cochran, spokesman for the state Office of Traffic Safety. "We won't be letting up from this point on."

So far, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported more than 700 tickets issued for distracted driving between April 1 and 17, a number "significantly higher than ever before," said spokesman Steve Whitmore.

LAPD numbers were unavailable, but officers in the San Fernando Valley issued nearly 300 tickets in six days alone, according to Officer Catalina Lopez.

And the increased vigilance would continue, officials vowed.

"Not only will we keep it up, but as we move on and it becomes easier to detect, I think you will see that these tickets will continue," Whitmore said.

A bill that would increase the fines for those caught using cellphones is currently being considered by the state Assembly.

SB 28, passed by the state Senate last week, would increase the cost of a first offense to at least $309, and subsequent violations would come with heavier fines and a point on DMV driving records.

Bicyclists are also included in the proposed law, although they would face lower fines and be spared a point on driving records.

A 20 percent reduction in fatalities and crashes was reported by the CHP in the first year after the hands-free law went into effect in July of 2008, according to Sen. Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto), who authored SB 28 and the hands-free law.

That translates into at least 700 fewer fatalities and 75,000 to 100,000 fewer crashes each year, Simitian's office said.

"Every day in California, families will sit down to dinner with people who might not have made it through the day," Simitian said. "I think that's worth it."

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is now starting a new life

Kate Middleton, or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge as we are now to address her, was simply stunning as she married Prince William.

Her 'vintage' lace and silk dress was designed by Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton and Kate teamed it with elegant handmade Robinson Pelham diamond earrings.

They were designed especially for her big day and commissioned by her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, as a wedding present.

Inspiration for the earrings came from the Middleton family's coat of arms which includes acorns and oak leaves.

The London jewellers also made Kate's sister Pippa's diamond earrings and their mother Carole's diamond pendant.

Father Michael and brother James both sported 2 gold stickpins - one with a single acorn at the head and the other with an oak leaf.

Kate's earrings complemented her Cartier tiara, loaned to her by the Queen, perfectly.

Daily News Editorial: Give your input at Citizens Redistricting Commission

SATURDAY you could go shopping, or to the beach (it's going to be hot). You could take in a movie, or spend the day in the garden. Or you could do something that may change your life, your neighborhood, your city and state for the better.

That thing would be attending the local hearing of the California Citizens Redistricting Commission at the San Fernando City Hall. (The commission is set to hold its business meeting starting at 10 a.m.; the public input portion of the meeting starts at 2 p.m.)

The independent citizens commission was formed by Proposition 11, a measure passed by California voters in November 2008. It has an important job: Redraw the political lines in California so that they reflect the wishes of the community, not the politicians.

Every 10 years, armed with the newest census data, governments are required to reassess political boundaries and move them. The reason this particular statewide redrawing is so important is because it reflects a significant departure from the past. The current political boundaries were drawn by politicians whose main interest in the districts was to create safe seats for both parties.

And guess what? You can help. The hearing Saturday in the San Fernando Valley is one of the many being held up and down the state. The idea is to hear

from residents before commissioners, with the help of geographers, start divvying up the state into legislative districts. (The city and county are doing their own redistricting.)

This input could be particularly important for places like the Valley, which is bisected by districts that dip in and out of the Valley and even the city. Many of the people elected to represent the Valley on the state Legislature don't even live here.

This may be your only chance to participate in this historic process. The commission has only until August to take public comments, draw the maps, collect more public comments and then adopt the new district maps. If you care about who represents you and why, then take a few minutes to stop by. What the heck, at least it's an air-conditioned room.

For the meeting agenda and address, as well as more information about the redistricting process, go to the commission's website, www.wedrawthelines.ca.gov.

Tattoo Artist Sues WB Over Tyson Tattoo In Hangover II

Filed under: Film Flickers > Legal Matters

mike-tyson-lawsuit-tattoo.jpg

Um, can he do this???

S. Victor Whitmill is an award-winning tattoo artist whose best work can be seen on Mike Tyson's face. Whtimill calls the tat "one of the most distinctive tattoos in the nation," and is thus asking for an injunction to stop the release of the Hangover II, since he was never asked permission to use the tattoo in the film.

Whitmill formally filed the lawsuit yesterday, insisting that he should've been compensated for the similar-looking facial art on Ed Helms' character in the upcoming flick. The complaint reads:

"When Mr. Whitmill created the Original Tattoo, Mr Tyson agreed that Mr. Whitmill would own the artwork and thus, the copyright in the Original Tattoo. Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc.?without attempting to contact Mr. Whitmill, obtain his permission, or credit his creation?has copied Mr. Whitmill's Original Tattoo and placed it on the face of another actor? This unauthorized exploitation of the Original Tattoo constitutes copyright infringement."

We guess he has a point. That's his livelihood, his art. The studio should have at least looked into giving him credit for it in some fashion. They'll certainly pay for that oversight now!

With Memorial Day weekend rapidly approaching, WB is going to have to move fast! Do they pay him off to silence him or do they engage in a bitter legal battle? Decisions, decisions!

Fire that could have destroyed downtown central library was 25 years ago

Twenty-five years ago today, Los Angeles almost lost its downtown central library to a spectacular fire. If not for a dramatic seven-hour-plus rescue effort from city firefighters, the library most likely would have been checked out.

It took more than 350 firefighters 7 hours and 38 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which was reported at 10:52 a.m. on April 29, 1986, in the building at 630 W. Fifth St., Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

"Each time a member of your Los Angeles Fire Department walks into the magnificent Los Angeles Central Library, they take reverent pause to consider how easily it could all be gone - all of it - but for the work of more than 350 of their brothers and sisters who gave their all 25 years ago today," Humphrey said.

Fifty-five firefighters and one civilian were injured, none critically, according to a report in the Los Angeles Fire Department Historical Archive.

"Extinguishing this blaze was accomplished by the maximum commitment of bravery, courage and determination to succeed by all those 350 members," according to the LAFD archive report.

"By their actions, they set a new mark for the reputation of the Los Angeles Fire Department by limiting the potential of a $160-million loss to $22 million in structure and contents fire damage," the report said. "One factor that helped prevent the loss from being larger was the recognition and implementation of salvage operations early in the

fire," the report said. "Out of over 1.2 million books that were in the library at the time of the fire, only 350,000 received any fire or water damage."

During the firefighting effort, mutual aid companies from Los Angeles County filled vacated spots at city fire stations.

Girls Aloud beauty Kimberley Walsh has agreed to throw a party so her loved ones can all watch the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton together.

Kimberley Walsh is throwing a royal wedding party.

The Girls Aloud singer is disappointed not to have received an invitation to the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton today (29.04.11), but is making up for it by throwing a bash to watch the ceremony with her family and friends.

She said: "Royal wedding fever has hit - I'm so excited!

I've met Prince Charles a few times so it's a shame I didn't get an invite - I'll have to settle for watching it at home. I've been nominated to hold a party and I've got a magnum of champagne to crack open.

"I've met Prince Charles a few times so it's a shame I didn't get an invite - I'll have to settle for watching it at home. I've been nominated to hold a party and I've got a magnum of champagne to crack open."

Kimberley is particularly excited to see what the bride will wear, as details of her gown have been kept under wraps until now.

She added: "I can't wait to see what style of dress Kate goes for - I'd like to see something feminine and classic but nothing too simple. I want to see a mammoth train!"

Since Girls Aloud went on hiatus, Kimberley has undertaken some presenting work and she admits she would have liked to have been asked to work on the royal wedding - though there is one advantage to not being involved.

She said: "I would have loved to have covered the royal wedding. It would have been a great gig and a great chance to be nosy, but it would have stressed me out figuring out what to wear - the pressure would be immense!"

Fan Favorite Eliminated in 'American Idol' Shocker: Episode Recap

Ryan Seacrest warned us early on in tonight's Top 6 elimination show that many fans would be disappointed with the results. Right then and there it became somewhat obvious who was going home. But first, let's touch on the night's happenings.

The Idols paid a visit to the British Consulate because, well, there's that whole wedding thing going on and Rob Reiner wasn't available. But Fred Willard was!

Casey Abrams and Fred shared a moment where I'm convinced neither knew who the other was. The wheel of random celebrity Idol run-ins keeps on spinning; where it lands nobody knows!

Back to the live show, the kids took to the stage for a clunky medley of Carole King hits, featuring Scotty surrounded by a group of unenthusiastic teen girls. The whole thing felt very stiff and antiquated. But boy, does Scotty sound good when he's not twanged out on some country song.

Tonight's Ford music video kept up the hallucinogenic theme of recent weeks, with the kids in a white room, drawing furniture while singing 'Our House.' Then everyone's eyes turned to saucers and the walls started melting ...

Speaking of hallucinogenics, Crystal Bowersox and her bong mic stand returned to the 'Idol' stage, with organ, harmonica and lap steel accompaniment, on her new single, 'Ridin' With the Radio.' Crystal sounded -- and looked -- amazing, which is all she'll have to go on since Ryan didn't give her a chance to plug anything.

Next up, a little question and answer sesh, brought to you by AT&T. Ryan fired off some viewer queries at the Top 6. We learned that given the chance to perform with one artist, living or dead, Casey Abrams would chose Jazz pianist Oscar Peterson. No one knew who he was talking about except for two people in the audience and Randy, who made sure we knew he knew. Also, Lauren gave a shout-out to those in the Southeast affected by the tornadoes, and Scotty revealed that he used to work at a grocery store. Really wish Rob Reiner was back ...

Finally, Ryan started to get down to the results, explaining that he'd be calling the Idols up in random order. But first, that font of musical wisdom and sassy soundbites, Jimmy Iovine, commented on each of the contestants' strengths and weaknesses in a pre-tape.

Haley came forward first and Jimmy expressed concern over her lack of self-awareness. Who is Haley? This has to be one of the most annoying and persistent complaints the contestants get, year after year. Haley shrugged it off and Randy mouthed "I know who you are" from the judges' panel. Not to worry, tonight, however. Haley was safe, whoever she is.

Scotty stepped up next. Jimmy compared him to Johnny Cash, in a roundabout way, and was worried that Scotty's "magnificent subtlety" might be lost on viewers. Ryan made him sweat it out and called Lauren up. Jimmy fretted that she's too concerned with negative comments. Lauren promised to put it aside and just be grateful she's still in the competition. But there was no immediate relief for her either, as Ryan sent Lauren off with Scotty.

Jimmy was on point with much of his commentary tonight, but when it came to Casey Abrams, he nailed it. He pointed out Casey's great musicianship, but asked that he stop the growling, as "the family dog does not vote on the show." Rawr!

James Durbin followed Casey, still unaware of his fate. Jimmy pointed out that James was more believable when he sings a melody with a rock feel than when he tries to go metal, a spot-on observation. There was no point in dangling James' fate in front of him, especially after last night's great performance of The Shirelles' 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow?' James promptly took a seat next to Haley.

Bottom three vet, Jacob Lusk followed James. The warring patterns in Jacob's attire last night were more fitting for 'Dancing With the Stars,' according to Jimmy. He put the gospel singer on "banana peel" status, which isn't surprising, considering he's hanging by a thread, albeit, a very colorful one.

Before Bruno Mars took to the stage to perform, 'The Lazy Song,' complete with a brass band lounging on a couch while playing, Lauren was let off the hook. Scotty, Casey and Jacob, though not necessarily the bottom three as the order was random tonight, were the last to know.

Scotty was swiftly sent back to safety with Casey and Jacob remaining. Surely, Jacob would be the one sent packing, but it was Casey who took the fall. Choosing to reprise 'I Put a Spell on You,' Casey let loose (perhaps what J.Lo was talking about last night), walking into the audience and up to the judges, kissing and hi-fiving along the way. But he ended the song, staring into Haley's eyes, singing "you're mine." Aww.

And then there were five. I'm a bit surprised to see Casey go before Jacob, but it seems gospel-soul resonates with viewers more that jazzy-blues this season. Or maybe Jacob wooed the fashionistas, wearing a suit louder than he is. What do you guys think?

Blake and Reba Do Charity

First they hosted this year's ACM awards together, now the two are bonding again over a less happy event: the recent tornado disasters.

Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire are putting on a benefit concert to help those affected by the recent string of horrible storms and tornados. It's called the Tornado Relief Concert and it'll be at the Choctaw Even Center in Durant, Oklahoma on May 26th.

Here's what McEntire had to say:

"A lot of people lost a great deal in this disaster and it's particularly close to us because we both consider Oklahoma home. We wanted to do something and let the people in Oklahoma know that we love them and we're praying for them during this difficult tragedy."

Such a good cause, you guys!

If you're in the area and can spare the money and time, definitely go check out the show! So many people need your help!

Our hearts go out to those who have experienced loss!

Robert Pattinson & Reese Witherspoon's Paris Premiere

Working hard to promote their new movie, Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon were spotted at the premiere of ?Water for Elephants? in Paris, France on Thursday evening (April 28).

The ?Breaking Dawn? stud and the ?Walk the Line? babe showed up at Le Grand Rex Theatre to greet fans and press before heading inside for the screening.

According to costumer Jacqueline West, Reese was a joy to work with on the film, especially given that the wardrobe was so skimpy.

"I didn't have to convince her. In fact, you know these '30s gowns, you can really wear nothing under them and she was so game to do that. She was such a great sport, and I think when she signed on to play this character she knew."

Ms. West continued, "They wore very, very skimpy costumes even for that period, they were like ballet costumes. I think she just decided that's what she is going to do when she signed on to do this, and she was very game. And Reese was also a gymnast, so she knew you couldn't do that kind of thing and have constraining costumes."

Ellen DeGeneres claims she's related to Kate Middleton.

The talk show host discovered through a genealogical society that she is a distant cousin of the future princess and still has her fingers crossed for a last-minute invitation to her wedding to Prince William tomorrow (29.04.11).

In an interview with Terri Seymour for 'Extra', she said: "We're 15th cousins, yeah, it's not like we're 20th or something ... we're 15th.

"It's not too late, Terri. I'm not counting anything out. That's not how I got to where I am, by being a glass-half-empty kind of person. I mean, there could be a phone call.

We're 15th cousins, yeah, it's not like we're 20th or something ... we're 15th.

"I have a beautiful outfit picked out, and a hat."

Although she may not be invited to the nuptials, Ellen is hopeful she can use her family connections to secure an interview with Kate.

She said: "There will be a time when Oprah's not gonna be around next year. Who will be around to help her when she needs something? Me."

Ellen - who is married to actress Portia de Rossi is not the only American celebrity desperate to attend Kate and William's nuptials at London's Westminster Abbey.

Reese Witherspoon - who recently wed Hollywood agent Jim Toth - admitted she would have given anything to get an invite.

She said: "I can't even contain my enthusiasm for the royal wedding! I'm kind of bummed I'm not invited to the royal wedding. My girlfriend asked me if I was invited. Well, no, but I invited them to my wedding!"

Celebrities fortunate enough to be invited include David Beckham and his wife Victoria, Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, Guy Ritchie and Joss Stone.

Apparently Lindsay Lohan was serious when she signed up to do her community service for that probation violation ... because TMZ has learned Lindsay already registered for community service.

Lindsay's lawyer went earlier this week to the Volunteer Center in West Los Angeles -- the place where defendants register for community service. Shawn Holley filed forms declaring Lindsay's intention to perform 360 hours of community service at the Downtown Women's Center.

Sources say Lindsay wants to start working at the Women's Center this week ... but the honchos at the organization want to wait 'til next week.

As for what Lindsay will be doing at the Woman's Center ... the decision has not been made. We're told the execs at the Women's Center will pick the job that "fits the skills of the person doing community service." As we first reported, one of the options is to work for D.I.V.A.S. -- a theatre workshop.

Sony says stolen PlayStation credit data encrypted

NEW YORK - Sony is telling PlayStation users that it had encrypted the credit card data that hackers may have stolen, reducing but not eliminating the chances that thieves could have used the information.

Sony Corp. said in a blog post Wednesday that while it had no direct evidence the data was even taken, it cannot rule out the possibility. It did not say how strong the encryption was, and it is possible for hackers to decipher files that are weakly encrypted - it's just more difficult.

"All of the data was protected, and access was restricted both physically and through the perimeter and security of the network. The entire credit card table was encrypted and we have no evidence that credit card data was taken," the company wrote in its blog post.

On Tuesday, Sony had said that account information, including names, birthdates, email addresses and log-in information, was compromised for certain players using its PlayStation Network. In an earlier blog post, the company had said that data had not been encrypted and had been kept in a separate location from the credit card information.

The company said it is in the process of moving its network infrastructure and its data center to a new, more secure location, though it did not give any more details. And it said it is working with law enforcement to investigate who is responsible for the attack.

Sony shut down the network last Wednesday after it said account information, including

names, birthdates, email addresses and log-in information was compromised for certain players in the days prior. It said it expects to have some services back up by next Tuesday, though it added it will only restore operations if it is confident that the network is secure.

Microsoft Corp., meanwhile, warned players on its Xbox Live network that they may be the subject of "phishing" attempts while playing "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" online. It said on its support website that it is working to resolve the issue. Phishing scams are attempts to pry personal information out of people, most often through official-looking emails but also other types of messages.

Microsoft declined to comment on the Sony situation.

""The security around our Xbox Live service and member information is our highest priority. Other than that, we have no comment," said spokesman David Dennis late Wednesday.

Sony says that of the 77 million PlayStation Network accounts, about 36 million are in the U.S. and elsewhere in the Americas, 32 million in Europe and 9 million in Asia, mostly in Japan.

Paris Hilton's boyfriend attacked outside court

A ''psycho'' attacked Paris Hilton's boyfriend Cy Waits outside court by a man who has been caught trespassing on her property yesterday (27.04.11).

A "psycho" attacked Paris Hilton's boyfriend, Cy Waits, outside court yesterday (27.04.11).

The socialite was on her way to testify against Nathan Parada - who is alleged to have tried to break into her property wielding a knife in August 2010 - when a man jumped at Cy, punched at the back of his head and tried to grab his neck.

The man - later identified as James Rainford, who has also, separately, been arrested for trespassing on Paris' property in October 2010 - was wrestled to the ground by the couple's security team outside the courthouse in Van Nuys, California.

Paris, 30, tweeted her shock at the incident, writing: "On my way to the court house to testify against the intruder. I'm very nervous to see him face to face again. :(

Omg @KathyHilton! That other psycho intruder just punched Cy in the back of the head as we were walking into the court house. So scary! :( (sic)

"Omg @KathyHilton! That other psycho intruder just punched Cy in the back of the head as we were walking into the court house. So scary! :( (sic)"

A representative for Paris later told E! News: "After the attack, they realised he is the same intruder that showed up to her home on a bicycle a few months ago. They are both a bit shaken up but thankful security acted quickly."

James was taken into police custody, and later claimed he had only been trying to get an autograph from Paris and to ask her father, Rick, for permission to ask her to marry him.

James is currently still on probation for misdemeanour assault and there is also a restraining order in place against him requiring that he stay at least 200 yards away from the blonde hotel heiress.

After her court appearance, Paris later tweeted about Nathan, writing: "So creepy seeing that guy in court today, it sent shivers down my spine. Now on my way to @URM to make Mother's Day cards with the kids. (sic)"

If found guilty Nathan Parada faces a maximum of three years in prison for felony charge attempted first-degree burglary.

A small hitchhike north of Bourgas, we stayed 3 days at a secluded black sea beach, with thin forest to its shoreline. Wandered to this hut at some point because of rain, which went away, ate gorgeous soup, and someone pointed out the dolphin skull hanging in the tree. The hut had some mythological status, as it hosted many people by a famous Bulgarian anti-war person back in the day?

Is The Vampire Diaries Set Haunted?

The Vampire Diaries is a scary show?vampires, werewolves, witches and frighteningly sexy stars?but the set itself is also a pretty terrifying place to work.

What happened to cause star Nina Dobrev to believe in ghosts?

The actress, who plays doppelgngers Elena and Katherine on the CW thriller, says the crew had more than one close encounter with paranormal phenomena while filming at the Gaither Plantation in Covington, Ga.

Once, Dobrev told the AP, a phantom piano player interrupted a shoot.

TWITTER: Follow @DruMoorhouse for more supernatural TV scoop!

"The ADs started screaming, 'Stop! Whoever that is, stop the music. We're rolling!'" she said, adding that when the crew barged into the room with the piano, it was empty.

Another time, when Dobrev was alone in a bathroom with no one nearby, she said "the lights were just spontaneously coming on and off."

The whole crew, said the actress, shared a "weird feeling" while filming at Gaither but "nobody could pinpoint" why.

Enter Syfy's Ghost Hunters crew, who investigated the plantation for an episode airing aired April 15, 2009.

"We have a lot of theories," Amy Bruni, one of the Ghost Hunters paranormal investigators, told us today about the hauntings. "The place is very historical?it's been around for a long time. There's a lot of history in that area. Sometimes we see that associated with paranormal activity, especially tragedies or things like that where something might not want to leave.

"I wouldn't blame them," Ami laughs. "It's a beautiful location."

Ami says The Vampire Diaries crew aren't the mysterious piano player's first audience. "I know piano playing has been reported there before," she told us, theorizing that "it could be what we consider a residual haunt. Something that doesn't necessarily interact with you but it kind of does things?goes through the motions."

The Ghost Hunters crew believe they found pretty conclusive evidence of paranormal activity during their investigation at the Gaither Plantation. "We basically put some flour down on the floor upstairs in the attic, left it and came back and there were footsteps in it." (Goosebumps!) "It's a very old-fashioned way of investigating. And then there was a cabinet door downstairs that we caught on camera that opened on its own [and] we heard footsteps throughout the location. It's been awhile but I do remember it pretty well as a really neat place."

A neat place to go on a dare, maybe, but would you want to work there?

"I don't think we've shot there since," Dobrev said.

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW; Ghost Hunters returns to Syfy June 1 with a special investigation of Pearl Harbor.

Photo: Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin in HBO's 'Game Change'

Julianne Moore as Sarah PalinTina Fey, watch your back! The first look at Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin in HBO's upcoming film 'Game Change' has hit the Internet, and she looks astonishingly like the former Alaska governor.

Moore and Ed Harris will star in the HBO pic based on the book of the same name. Written by Danny Strong -- yep, Jonathan from 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and writer of HBO's 'Recount' -- the film starts production on Wednesday. Jay Roach of 'Austin Powers' fame and the director of 'Recount' will helm the film.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Melissa Farman will play Bristol Palin. Viewers may remember Farman from HBO's 'Temple Grandin.'

Larry Sullivan will play Sarah Palin's deputy chief of staff Chris Edwards and 'Trauma' actor Jamey Sheridan will play McCain adviser Mark Salter. Woody Harrelson has been tapped to play McCain's senior adviser Steve Schmidt.

Moore was set to play Hillary Clinton in HBO's 'The Special Relationship' and even did a makeup test for the role, but due to scheduling conflicts with 'The Kids Are All Right,' she had to drop out. Instead, the role went to Hope Davis.

here's a side-by-side comparison of Moore (dressed as Clinton) and Clinton:
